Overall, the word I keep coming up with to describe this book is "light", but that isn't really right. But learning about Lexie's Gus caused my love to falter a little, as did Bean's. Pearl is OK with the fact that her mom is gay - but she is distraught that Lexie never trusted or cared enough to tell her the truth about anything. Claire was the perfect antagonist, although by the end of the book I had a new appreciation for her behavior. What is even more surprising is when Claire and Lexie Bean's mom include Sally, Henry's mom, into the mix and she actually enjoys herself.
